Alert message sent 16/11/2021 13:10:00

Information sent on behalf of Staffordshire Police

The police are working to highlight the impact of knife crime on public safety and families.

There has been a 5% decrease in knife crime in the last year but this needs to decrease further.

Speak to your children about the issues, their thoughts and worries around knife crime to encourage open and honest discussion.

If you want to make a report about someone carrying a knife please call 101 or 999 as appropriate.

Stoke on Trent City Council's Safeguarding Referral Team can also be contacted on 01782 235100 or out of hours 01782 234234.

There is a knife amnesty bin at Longton Police Station (Sutherland Road).

There will be an online forum around knife crime on 18 November 7pm-8pm.  Questions from the public will be answered by representatives from the police and partners.  Further information is available at www.staffordshire.police.uk/ditchtheblade
