Vehicle crime - Rookery Road WOMBOURNE

At approx. 2310hrs on Saturday 20/11/2021, unknown offenders have gained access to a BMW X3 parked on the driveway of a property on ROOKERY ROAD, WOMBOURNE.

Offenders are believed to have been travelling in a white Hyundai Kona, utilising a 'relay device' in an attempt to start the BMW. The attempt failed and offenders left empty handed, following being disturbed by the homeowner.

Please consider adding extra security measures to 'keyless entry' vehicles, such as utilising faraday bags (which block the signals emitted by keys, stopping offenders using relay devices to enter your vehicle) full steering wheel locks and CCTV / ring doorbells etc. Always be vigilant and look out for your neighbours - report any suspicious behaviour to Staffordshire Police.
