Community Issues Raised By You

Alert message sent 31/01/2022 15:16:00

Information sent on behalf of Staffordshire Police

During our Neighbourhood Policing Week, officers held a number of community engagement events in which members if the public had an opportunity to discuss and raise any local issues they may have.

Here is a quick review of some of the items that were raised:

1) ABANDONED VEHICLES

Of those that were put forward officers have completed the necessary checks and spoke with the registered keepers and can confirm that they are all in order and will be moved in the near future (if they haven’t done so already).

2) ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR (including nuisance motorbikes)

Local officers have been made aware for each respective area/issue. Each location raised has also been added to our Anti-Social Behaviour Car hotspot list. Our ASB Car runs every day from mid-afternoon til 10pm. Hotspots are identified by reports to Police or council, identified by local officers or raised as an issue at public events.

3) SPEEDING

Local officers have been made aware for each respective area to provide a presence at key times. Details of the Community Speedwatch Team have also been sent out to those wishing to tackle the issue and a leaflet with relevant contact details has been attached to this alert.

4) CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLES (overnight)

Repeat locations have been circulated to response crews for passing attention and local neighbourhood teams to provide both a high-vis and covert presence.

5) FLY TIPPING

This is a council issue and has been passed to the relevant team. To report fly tipping you can do so online at www.tamworth.gov.uk/street-issues or by calling 01827 709709.

6) DRUGS (use/supply)

All information given is added to our intelligence system for officers to develop and action accordingly. Developing intel can take time which we understand can be frustrating for people witnessing drugs activity taking place.
As well as local policing teams (LPT), we also have teams within force who target specific drug related issues such as county lines. The LPT deal with drugs offences on a daily basis but we are somewhat guilty of not celebrating our successes in that regard and it’s only the high profile incidents that get widespread recognition – most recently the cannabis grow at the old Engine Lane Stores in Glascote Heath.

You can report drugs activity anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org

To raise a local issue you do so by phone on 101, online at www.staffordshire.police.uk/ro/report/ or via Facebook or Twitter. In an emergency always call 999.
