We have been made aware of a number of incidents where dogs off-lead have been chasing waterfowl and other wildlife around Stonydelph and Belgrave lakes.
Please keep all dogs on a lead around the lakes or wherever there is other wildlife, particularly at this time of year when in addition to waterfowl there are other ground-nesting birds.
The law states you must keep your dog on a lead no longer than two metres between 1st March and 31st July when on any open land to protect ground-nesting birds.
There are plenty of local spaces nearby with open land for our four-legged friends to have a good run around.
