Staffordshire Police have received reports of suspected spam calls from the telephone number ‘01543 574195’

When answered, a recorded message will play, advising the recipient that there is unusual activity on their banking account.

The message will then ask the recipient to press a number to speak with an operator.

Often, upon pressing the stated digit, the recipient will be connected to a premium rate number.

These calls may be an attempt to obtain your banking details fraudulently.

Please be aware of this current spam tactic and also bear in mind you could receive a similar call but from a different number.

If ever in doubt regarding the legitimacy of such a call, terminate immediately and contact your bank using the number printed on the rear of your bank card.

Please report any suspected spam calls to Police or Action Fraud.
