Have You Heard Of The "BRUSHING SCAM"?

Dear Residents

It has come to light that there are a couple of address in the area that have possibly been subject to a scam known as “BRUSHING”

This is a Fraudulent e-commerce tactic whereby sellers send unsolicited packages to people. They do this to create fake transactions on different platforms to inflate their sales.

Also happening is, a package is delivered to your address but for someone else named on the item.

That person then contacts the company stating that their item has not arrived.

They can then, opt for a refund then, come over to your address and collect the said item and advise you that it was delivered to your house in error they filled in the details wrong therefore, they can then get a refund and the item for free.

If this happens to you. Firstly, have you ordered anything? Are they YOUR details on the label? If not, REFUSE THE PACKAGE!

If you were out at the time of the delivery. Contact that courier company and get them to come back and return the item.
