Ongoing Antisocial Behaviour, Underage Drinking, and Hate Speech

We are currently investigating ongoing incidents of antisocial behaviour taking place on the field near known as ‘Baldies field’

These include disruptive gatherings, underage drinking, and the use of racially abusive language, all of which are causing significant concern and distress to local residents, who are trying to keep the space clean and safe for all of the community to be able to enjoy freely.

This behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated, underage drinking is a criminal offence and puts young people at serious risk. Furthermore, the use of racial slurs is not only deeply offensive but may also constitute to a hate crime, which carries serious legal consequences.

We are stepping up patrols in the area and working to identify those involved. Sanctions may include community resolutions, fixed penalty notices, and in more serious cases, criminal charges. Parents and guardians are urged to speak with their children about the

dangers and consequences of this behaviour — not only for their safety, but for the potential impact on their future.

We rely heavily on the community’s support to address these issues, reporting helps us build a clearer picture of what is happening and helps us respond more effectively.
