🚨Residential Burglary - Eagle Crescent, Eccleshall🚨

On the morning of Saturday 12th April 2025, a burglary has been reported at Eagle Crescent, Eccleshall. It has occurred between 02:15hrs-02:30hrs. Two male suspects have attempted to gain entry by smashing a window, the males were disturbed and made good of their escape. We believe the persons involved may have been after the car keys. 

The investigation is ongoing but if you have any CCTV, dashcam or smart doorbell footage around this location or have seen anything suspicious around the time stated or earlier, please contact Staffordshire Police on 101 or via the Staffs Police website and quote incident ref; 0073– 12th April 2025. Patrols have increased around the area, we would like to ask the community to be vigilant and to remove car keys and do not leave car keys in sight or in obvious safe places where offenders will look. Please check all doors and windows to your properties are secure.

Keeping your vehicle safe from keyless theft

Consider buying a Faraday pouch and store your keyless fob in it

Faraday pouches - also known as signal blockers - work by blocking your key signal, which prevents would-be thieves from stealing your vehicle. They are readily available to buy for as little as £5. 

Make sure you test to see if your pouch works. You can do this by putting the key in it and walking up to your car and checking if it unlocks.

Faraday pouches have a metal lining to block the signal and are more reliable but if you don't have one, you could keep your keys in a metal box such as a biscuit tin may also work. Ensure you check this before you rely on it.
