A man has been arrested following a burglary in Tamworth where two cars were stolen. It happened on Monday 7 April when the victim came downstairs in the morning and discovered that someone had been in his home. The back door was open and two cars that were on the drive had been taken, as well as their keys and the victim’s backpack.
The estimated value of the stolen items is believed to be worth more than £30,000 collectively.
Officers started work to track down the cars and to find out who was responsible.
The victim’s backpack was found by a member of the public in the Tamworth area later that day. The items inside had been taken before it was found, but the bag has since been given back to the victim.
After progressing a number of enquiries, we arrested an 18-year-old man from Tamworth yesterday morning (Wednesday 30 April), on suspicion of burglary.
We’re determined to take robust action against the people responsible for burglary, theft and robbery across Staffordshire.
By working proactively to stop offenders, we’ve been able to reduce the number of burglaries, robberies and thefts from the person from December 2023 to December 2024, when compared to the previous year.
Officers are working hard to protect the belongings of our communities and to stop those responsible for these crimes.
