Off-road bikes seized as part of operation in NewcastleTwo off-road bikes have been seized and two people have been arrested as part of our continued efforts to tackle the issues affecting communities in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Teams from the National Police Air Service (NPAS), our Road Crime Team and specialist dog units patrolled the streets on Sunday 4 May. A black and orange bike was seen being driven dangerously around Silverdale, Knutton and Cross Heath. The rider, a 20-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, driving without a licence and driving without due care and attention. He has been released under investigation whilst our enquiries continue. A blue bike was spotted by NPAS officers being driven dangerously before going into an address in Kidsgrove. Officers attended the address and found the bike stored in the shed. The rider, an 18-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, driving without a licence and driving without due care and attention.
