Local officers carry out targeted patrols in Cannock and Rugeley hotspots |
||
|
Local policing team officers have been carrying out a number of targeted patrols across Cannock and Rugeley as part of a crackdown on anti-social behaviour, violence and knife crime. The patrols have so far seen officers take to the beat across Market Square, Mill Street and Price Street in Cannock as well as Bow Street, Market Street, Albion Street and Upper Brook Street in Rugeley. Officers have specifically focused on tackling youth-related anti-social behaviour, shop-lifting, drug-dealing and drug use. The aim of the patrols is for officers to engage with the local community, be visible and observant of any concerns that may arise. Chief Inspector Al Lyford, of the Cannock local policing team, said: “We want to reassure the public that we are present in these areas and are doing all we can to deter anti-social behaviour and related criminality in our communities. “If you see our officers out-and-about, please do come and talk to us to raise any concerns or let us know of any issues you are experiencing in your area. “We are keen to continue to work with our communities to do what we can to reduce crime and increase public safety for all those who live, work and visit Cannock and Rugeley."
