Earlier today, officers responded to a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a deer on Cannock Chase. The impact caused significant damage to the vehicle, highlighting just how dangerous these incidents can be — not only for wildlife but for drivers and passengers too.

🦌 Cannock Chase is home to a large deer population, and they are especially active during dawn and dusk. These beautiful animals can appear suddenly, giving drivers little time to react.

We’re urging all motorists to:

🔦 Use full beams when safe to do so at night to spot animals early.
🛑 Slow down in wooded or rural areas, especially where warning signs are posted.
👀 Stay alert — if you see one deer, more may follow.
📞 Report any collisions to the police, especially if the animal is injured or causing a hazard.
