Two arrested over drug offences

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after we carried out a property search in Burton-on-Trent. 

Officers were on a road off Horninglow Road North on Thursday (10 July) when they spotted a suspected drug deal take place. 

Officers then entered a nearby address and carried out a search. 

A suspected firearm and a crossbow were recovered from the property as well as multiple mobile phones.

A man, aged  43, from Burton-on-Trent and a 40-year-old woman from Derbyshire, were each arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. 

They have been placed on conditional police bail while our inquiries continue.
