Theft, Attempted Garage Burglary & criminal damage incidents, upcoming Neighbourhood Watch event and Community updates

I hope you all are having a great week.

Firstly, apologies if I missed anyone at last weeks Police surgery at Fernwood Green. I left early to help officers who were responding to a house fire in Hanford - I will reschedule this surgery in the very near future.

Please find at the bottom of this email the locations I visited on patrol from 07/07/25 - 12/07/25 and the dates & locations of upcoming Police Street surgeries.

Theft incident

We have received a report that two males had stolen vehicle batteries that were on a driveway of a property in Clermont Avenue. This occurred at approximately 11am on 11/07/2025. If you have any CCTV or information that may help our enquiries please call 101 quoting serial 349 of 12/07/2025.

Attempted garage burglary  

We have received a report that person(s) have tried to gain entry to a residential garage, causing damage in the process. This occurred on Barlaston Old Road between 16:30 on 12/07/25 - 9am 14/07/2025. If you have any CCTV or information that may help our enquiries please call 101 quoting serial 0056 of 16/07/2025. 

Criminal damage to motor vehicle. 

We have received a report that a vehicle which was parked on Stone Road has had the rear windscreen damaged. This has occurred sometime between 11/07/2025 - 14/07/2025. If you have any CCTV or information that may help our enquiries please call 101 quoting serial 726 of 14/07/25. 

                                                                                      Neighbourhood Watch Launch

On 12/07/25 I was out on patrol with the Staffordshire Police Cadets, who helped me deliver ‘welcome packs’ to all addresses within the New Neighbourhood Watch zones. The new zones are Turnberry Dr, Richmond Rd, Barnwell Gr, Belvedere Rd, Renfrew Pl & Carrick Pl. Many more will be created in the weeks and months ahead.

UPCOMING EVENT …To help launch the new Neighbourhood Watch zones, this Saturday (19/07/25) myself and a number of other agencies will be on the Man in Space car park from 10am - 14:00. If you would like to come along to discuss any neighbourhood concerns or if you would just like to say hello, I look forward to seeing you there.

                                                                                             Useful contact numbers

As part of the ‘Neighbourhood Watch welcome pack’, residents received an A4 poster which I have made and has the contact numbers for the emergency services and a number of other agencies. If you would like one, please let me know by replying to this message and I will deliver it to your home address.

                                                                                       Community Speed watch

Over the past several months I have had hundreds of conversations with residents, helping me to gain a greater understanding of what issues you would like to see addressed in the area. One of the most frequently (as recently as today) raised issues is Speeding.

On 11/07/25 myself and members of our Community Speedwatch Team attended Barlaston Old Road & Burrington Dr. These are two locations residents have raised concerns regarding the speed of vehicles.

Burrington Dr - 139 vehicles travelled through. One vehicle recorded as speeding, travelling 37 mph.

Barlaston Old Road -407 vehicles travelled through. 12 vehicles were recorded as speeding, with the highest speed being 46 mph.

Warning letters will be sent to the registered keepers of those vehicles recorded as speeding.

The work of the Speed watch group helps greatly in raising the awareness of the dangers of speeding, helping to keep our roads in Trentham & Hanford safer.

                                                         Trentham Reads & Trentham Methodist Church Arts & Crafts.

On 08/07/25 I said hello to those attending Trentham Reads at the Trentham Community Library and on 09/07/25 I called in at the Arts & crafts group at the Trentham Methodist Church. These are two really great groups to get involved with. If you would like to make new friends or just fancy relaxing for few hours, they are perfect places to be.

On 07/07/25 I spent the day at Longton Fire Station, speaking to Y5 students from local primary schools in the area as part of the ‘safe and sound’ event. The students were given a task about what they felt makes a good citizen and it was a great opportunity to answer plenty of questions that they had about my role and work the police do. I look forward to being there again next year.

On 21/05/2025 there will be a Police Street Surgery at Aintree Close at 18:45 - 19:00

On 22/07/2025 there will be a Police Street Surgery at Imandra Cl at 15:00 - 15:15

On 22/07/2025 there will be a Police Street Surgery at Laxton Grove 18:45 - 19:00
