DUMPED WASTE COSTS FLY TIPPER £2000 |
||
Good evening,
Following some great joint work between ourselves and Cannock Chase District Council's Environmental Health team, a registered scrap metal and waste carrier has been made to pay £2,020 after dumping household waste on Wheelhouse Road in Rugeley.
Sean McGuigan was found guilty of fly-tipping household waste, including a washing machine, and being in control of a vehicle involved in illegally dumping waste in April 2024.
CCTV footage captured a distinctive white and yellow sign-written tipper truck dumping waste at the location.
Mr McGuigan denied the offences, claiming he had loaned what he described as “his pride and joy” to another person. However, the court rejected this defence and found him guilty.
Following the trial at Cannock Magistrates’ Court. earlier this month, the court ordered McGuigan to pay a total of £2,020, which included £1,000 compensation to cover the clean-up costs. | ||
