Arrest made after £1k-worth of cocaine found

A man has been arrested after an estimated £1,000-worth of cocaine and a suspected drugs line phone was seized in Stoke-on-Trent.

At around 3pm yesterday (Wednesday 22 October), officers stopped a car in Penkhull, following intelligence that it was potentially linked to drug supply.

Cocaine, £430 in cash and a suspected drugs line phone was seized.

Whilst responding to the incident, two officers suffered minor injuries. 

A 25-year-old man, from Telford, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A – cocaine, obstructing / resisting a constable in execution of duty and assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty.

He remains in police custody for questioning.
