Good evening everyone,
Parking concerns – Kennedy Rd
Yesterday (24/10/25) I was contacted by a resident who was concerned about parking issues on Kennedy Road, in close proximity to The Lea.
The issues being that vehicles are parking on the pavement, not leaving room for pedestrians and mobility scooters, prams and as a result, concerned that an accident may happen. It was also raised that vehicles are parking on the yellow lines. Today (25/10/2025) I was present at this location from 14:00 – 15:00, where I had the opportunity to engage with drivers and other residents about these issues. When parking, do not park on or near to junctions, near to or on crossing points and adhere to parking restrictions in place. I have this afternoon made a report to the Council Parking enforcement, highlighting the concerns.
Neighbourhood Watch Last night (24/10/25) myself and a colleague attended all of the streets where Neighbourhood Watch zones have recently been created and put the ‘Neighbourhood Watch’ signs in place. ![]()
If you would like to register your home with Neighbourhood Watch, you can do so by visiting www.ourwatch.org.uk. The zones recently created are…. I am now working on setting up the next zone(s), which I will announce in the near future….
Community Speed Watch
Community Speed Watch was carried out yesterday (24/10/25) on Barlaston Old Road. In just under 1 hour, 229 vehicles passed through with 10 vehicles being recorded as driving above the speed limit. The highest recorded speed being 41mph. The registered keepers of the vehicles recorded as driving above the speed limit will be sent warning letters. A big thank you to the Community Speed Watch team – they are doing a fantastic job and it was great to hear they were shown plenty of support from drivers passing through.
You Say, We Go. Yesterday I was contacted by a resident who wanted to see more patrols of Wymondley Grove –
Today I have been at this location and will increase patrols here as much as I can. If there are any other locations that you would like to see patrols of or patrols increased, please let me know. I have also today been to Brinsley Avenue,
where we have previously had parking issues. Happy to report none were seen at the time I visited.
