Poaching reports

We are seeing an increase in incidents of poaching / hare coursing around your area where crops and gates are being damaged.

Please ensure gates are always closed and locked. Use heavy duty chains and circular padlocks that are difficult to cut. 

Also, consider digging a deep ditch along the inside of your hedge lines around the perimeter or at least along the roadside, this has been used as a deterrent in other areas and has caught offenders out. This makes it easier for police to catch them as well.

Always report suspicious vehicles or people around your farms/land and include as much detail as possible; make and model of any cars you see, reg plates if safe to see and number of people/dogs, also if any shots are heard. 

Call 999 if the offenders are there at the time, especially if caused/causing damage or shots heard.
