APPEAL: ASSAULTED MALE SADLY DIES

We’ve launched an investigation after a man sadly died following an assault in Tamworth.                

At about 7.10pm on Friday (31 October), we were called to Hayle, Belgrave, following a report that a man had suffered an injury to his head after being assaulted. 

Officers went to the scene with paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

The victim, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital.

A 15-year-old boy, from Tamworth, was arrested on suspicion of section 18 – wounding. He was bailed with conditions while our investigation continues.

Sadly, the man died in hospital yesterday (Tuesday 4 November). Specialist officers are supporting the man’s family at this difficult time.
