ROAD SAFETY FOR HORSE RIDERS...

#RoadSafety | As the evenings continue to grow darker, it’s vital that everyone using the roads takes extra care to stay safe.

🐴 Horse riders in particular should ensure both they and their horses are clearly visible to drivers. This not only protects riders and animals, but also helps motorists avoid sudden surprises on dimly lit roads.  

The British Horse Society advises: 

🦺 Riders should wear at least a high‑visibility tabard or jacket 

🐎 Horses should wear reflective leg bands  

🟨 Additional reflective gear (such as fluorescent exercise sheets or bridle bands) is strongly encouraged for maximum visibility  

Drivers are reminded to slow down and give plenty of space when passing horses, especially during the darker evenings.  

Together, we can make our roads safer for everyone.
