Please see the below Conservatory safety tips to help prevent burglaries: 1. Strengthen Doors and WindowsUse laminated or toughened glass for conservatory windows and doors; these are harder to break.Fit multi-point locking systems on doors and windows rather than simple latches.Consider internal window locks for added security.2. Install Security Film or BlindsApply security film to glass panels to make them shatter-resistant.Use opaque blinds or curtains to prevent burglars from seeing valuables inside.3. Add Physical BarriersFit security bars or grilles on vulnerable windows (especially if the conservatory is at the rear and hidden from view).Ensure any adjoining doors to the main house have solid-core construction and a deadbolt lock.4. Lighting and VisibilityInstall motion-activated exterior lights around the conservatory.Keep the area well-lit and trim back bushes or trees that could provide cover for intruders.5. Alarm and Smart TechExtend your home alarm system to cover the conservatory.Use smart sensors on doors and windows for real-time alerts.Consider a CCTV camera overlooking the conservatory entrance.6. Remove TemptationAvoid leaving valuables in plain sight.Lock away items like laptops, jewelry, or car keys when not in use.7. Secure Roof PanelsIf your conservatory has removable roof panels, ensure they are properly secured with anti-lift devices.Best wishes, |
