As most people are aware, the use of e-scooters is not legal on public land and roads. As the Christmas shopping period becomes very busy, please do not purchase e-scooters for your children. They can only be used legally on private land. The use of e-scooters is often raised in public meetings, and members of the public often approach officers raising their concerns. They also cause risk, harm and possible injury to riders, and other road users. If seen by officers, they will be seized and destroyed or parts recycled. Make Christmas a safer Christmas for our children and do not purchase e-scooters as a Christmas gift. In our neighbouring force over 600 e-scooters have been seized after being ridden illegally on public paths and roads, and here in Staffordshire the Police we will also have the same approach.
