Appeal following attempted robbery |
||
|
We are appealing for witnesses of an attempted robbery in Tamworth recently to come forward. A woman was on her bicycle outside of Lidl on Bolebridge Street on Saturday (22 November) when a man approached her. The suspect pushed the woman and tried to steal her bike and mobile phone, which was in her hand at the time. The victim fell to the floor as a result and injured her left arm and wrist. The suspect made off on foot in the direction of Amington Road. A 30-year-old man, from Tamworth, was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery. He remains on conditional police bail. Officers are continuing to make inquiries locally and understand that a number of people tried to intervene to help the woman. We would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or who assisted in any way to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 521 of 22 November. To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. | ||
