Crime Prevention Advice To help protect yourself and your property, we recommend the following crime prevention tips: Be Vigilant Stay alert to unusual activity in your neighbourhood, especially during early morning or late-night hours. Report anything suspicious - no matter how minor it may seem.
Secure Your Property
Lock all doors and windows before going to bed or leaving your home. Use high-quality locks and consider installing additional security devices such as deadbolts. Keep valuables out of sight and away from windows.
Lighting and Visibility Install motion-activated lights around entrances and driveways. Keep the exterior of your property well-lit to deter unwanted visitors.
CCTV and Alarms Consider installing CCTV cameras or a video doorbell for added security. Ensure any existing security systems are in good working order.
Keyless car theft is also a growing concern. Criminals use electronic devices to intercept signals from key fobs, allowing them to unlock and start vehicles without physical access to the keys. To help safeguard your vehicle, consider the following advice:
Use a Faraday Bag for Your Key Fob
What is a Faraday Bag? A Faraday bag is a specially designed pouch that blocks radio signals. Placing your key fob inside one prevents criminals from amplifying or intercepting its signal. How to Use: Always store your key fob in a Faraday bag when not in use, especially overnight or when at home.
Additional Security Tips
Keep Keys Away from Doors and Windows: Store your key fob as far away from entry points as possible to reduce the risk of signal interception.
Consider a Steering Wheel Lock: Physical deterrents like steering wheel locks make your vehicle less attractive to thieves.
Install a Tracker: Vehicle tracking devices can help recover your car if it is stolen.
Check for Software Updates: Some manufacturers release updates to improve keyless system security. Contact your dealer for advice.
Thanks
