MEN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS OFFENCES |

Two men have been arrested after we found around £20,000-worth of cocaine and mobile phones in Tamworth. At 4pm yesterday (17 December), officers from our major and organised crime proactive stopped a car and searched the driver and a passenger. Two mobile phones and cocaine were found. The vehicle was then seized. Officers went on to search an address in the town and a property in Warwickshire. Drug paraphernalia, nitrous oxide cannisters and around £20,000-worth of cocaine was seized. A 55-year-old man, from the Tamworth area, has been arrested on suspicion of and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (cocaine), possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (other), driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of specified controlled drug above the specified limit and using a vehicle on a road without third party insurance. A 31-year-old man, from the Luton area, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (cocaine). Both men remain in custody while our enquiries continue.
