PLEASE STAY OFF THE ICE!

Good afternoon,

We’ve had several incidents reported across the county involving people walking or playing on frozen lakes, ponds, and rivers. Please remember:

Ice is unpredictable – even if it looks solid, it can break without warning.

Cold water kills – falling through ice can lead to hypothermia in minutes.

Keep children and pets away – they’re at higher risk of falling through.

If you see someone or an animal in trouble, do not go onto the ice. Call 999 immediately and ask for the Fire and Rescue Service.
