A man has been charged with theft and drug offences after we found an estimated £700-worth of stolen goods in Lichfield.
Waleed Basharat, 26, of Birmingham, has been charged with theft from a shop and possession of a controlled drug of class B (cannabis).
It comes after we responded to reports of a theft at Boots on Bakers Lane at about 3pm on Saturday 20 December. Officers, who were already in the vicinity, responded promptly to the report.
Basharat has been bailed ahead of his appearance at Cannock Magistrates’ Court on 16 January.
We’re continuing to carry out proactive patrols across our towns and cities as part of our ongoing commitment in Staffordshire.
Since May last year, we’ve spent more than 10,000 hours patrolling hotspot locations across the county as part of our ongoing work in tackling the main concerns of local people and businesses. | ||
