Appeal following multiple vehicle collision

We are appealing for information, witnesses and dashcam footage, after a collision involving multiple vehicles took place in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

We were called at 7.10am on Monday (26 January) to reports of a collision near the Cellarhead crossroads, on the A520, in the direction of Werrington Sports Ground.

A grey Ford transit van and a grey Volkswagen Polo were involved in the collision.

A white Vauxhall Vivaro van had broken down nearby before it happened and also sustained some damage.

A man, the driver of one of the vehicles involved, was assisted out of the vehicle by colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The man, and a woman from the other vehicle, were each taken to hospital by ambulance.

Neither persons’ injuries are believed to be life-threatening nor life-changing.

Officers remained at the scene to assist with traffic management and the road was closed for a number of hours while an investigation was launched.
