Police Check site Operation

On Friday 30th January 2026, Lichfield Neighbourhood Policing Team shift 3 conducted a check site operation on the Rugeley Road, in Armitage inline with recent issues with speeding vehicles, heavy goods vehicles and not adhering to road signs.

The operation was from 10:00am – 11:30am, and during that time we:

Ran checks on 159 vehicles through police systems

Stopped 13 vehicles into the check site

Issued 1 ticket for no MOT

Issued 1 ticket for bald tyre offences

1 vehicle which was seized, for no insurance, mot and tax

Whilst at the location officers engaged with the community and signed up 10 residents for our Smart Alert programme.

We will continue to run these operations in this area, and other areas in the Lichfield district moving forward.
