🚔 DRUG DRIVING: DON’T RISK IT

You’re unfit to drive due to legal or illegal drugs.

You have even tiny amounts of illegal drugs above the legal limits in your blood.

You’re over the limit for certain prescription drugs without a prescription.

Field Impairment Test – balance & coordination checks.

Roadside DrugWipe – detects cannabis & cocaine.

Arrest & Blood Test if you fail or show signs of impairment.

From 2026, proposed changes may allow saliva tests to be used as direct evidence.

Some medicines cause drowsiness, slow reactions or impair judgement.
If unsure, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

Even trace amounts of drugs like:
Cannabis, Cocaine, MDMA, Heroin metabolite, Ketamine, LSD and others
can lead to immediate prosecution.

Minimum 1-year driving ban

Unlimited fine

Up to 6 months in prison

Criminal record for 11 years

Causing death by drug driving: maximum sentence is life imprisonment.

Drugs can cause:

Slower reactions

Poor coordination

Blurred vision

Impaired judgement

Panic, paranoia or hallucinations
