HELP PREVENT VEHICLE CRIME

We are continuing to see incidents of vehicle crime, including both theft of vehicles and theft from vehicles, across the area. Offenders are often targeting insecure vehicles or using opportunistic methods to steal items left on display.

We are urging all residents to remain alert and take simple steps to help reduce the risk of becoming a victim. Even small precautions can make a significant difference.

🔐 How You Can Help Prevent Vehicle Crime

Always lock your vehicle, even when parked on your driveway or for a short time. Double-check that windows and sunroofs are fully closed.

Remove valuables from view – this includes bags, coats, tech, loose change, work equipment, and charging cables which indicate devices may be inside.

Store car keys securely inside your home.

For keyless entry vehicles, keep keys in a signal-blocking pouch (Faraday pouch) to prevent relay theft.

Park in well‑lit, busy areas or ideally in a garage when possible.

Use additional security devices such as steering wheel locks, wheel clamps, trackers, and approved alarms.

Ensure number plates are secure using anti‑theft screws.

Report ALL suspicious behaviour to us. If you see a crime in progress, always call 999. For non‑emergencies, contact 101 or report online.
