Appeal after dogs and owner attacked |
||
|
We are appealing for information after a man and his three dogs were attacked by two other dogs in Stoke-on-Trent. On Wednesday (18 February), the victim was walking his three cocker spaniels around Burslem Cemetery on Hanley Road at around 10.30am when he was approached by two unknown dogs that were not on leads. One of the dogs was a brown and white American Pitbull-type, while the other was a white and brown bull terrier-type dog. The pitbull began to attack the victim’s dogs. The victim was bitten on the hand by the pitbull. He went to hospital for treatment and received stitches for the hand injury. The victim’s dogs were taken to a vet’s following the incident and thankfully were not seriously injured. We believe the pitbull-type dog may have been injured in the incident. Officers attended the scene and carried out a search of the area to locate the dogs and owner, but did not find anyone. We are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage, to get in touch. Contact us on 101 quoting incident number 229 of 18 February. To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. | ||
