Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you all are having a nice weekend. Firstly, a very big welcome to everyone who has joined Staffordshire Smart Alerts over the last few days.
If you know of anyone who would like to receive these emails, they can do so by visiting www.staffordshiresmartalert.co.uk or by scanning the QR code below.
Please find at the end of this email the list of locations I have patrolled over the last few days along with upcoming dates, times and locations for the street surgeries. Street surgeries were recently completed at Danebower Rd and Cherry Tree Close. My apologies if I missed anyone at the surgery scheduled on Thursday at Aintree Cl - I was called away and was unable to attend. I have re-scheduled the surgery, with the details below.
Crime Reports
Theft of vehicle tyres – Sandringham Cr
On 05/03/26 at approximately 11:08am, two males stole two vehicle tyres from the front garden of a property on Sandringham Cr, Hanford -They arrived at the location in a white transit van. If anyone has any CCTV, Ring doorbell or any other information that may help our enquiries, please call 101 quoting serial 707 of 06/03/26 – thank you.
Appeal requests
I want to send a very big thank you to everyone who has helped with appeal requests. The help and information you pass is making an incredible difference. It’s one of the main reasons why I am so passionate about this system and why I want as many residents to receive this emails as possible. It really is showing that by working together, as a community, we will make it harder and more challenging for anyone wishing to commit crime on our area. With 1356 residents on the system so far, we are making fantastic progress, so thank you all very much, I really appreciate it.
Cold Callers – This week I have contacted Trading Standards regarding an issue over a cold caller on our area. If you wish to report a cold calling issue to Trading Standards, this is the email address to use Public.Protection@stoke.gov.uk If you have any concerns regarding a cold caller that has attended yours or someone else’s property, please call 101 (in non-emergency circumstances) or 999 (in emergencies). Non-emergency incidents can also be reported online at www.staffordshire.police.uk
Patrols Over the last few days I have attended a number of locations, focusing patrols on addressing issues that have been raised to myself. On 06/03/26 I completed a patrol of the path at the rear of Pacific Road, which leads to the canal, where in recent weeks damage had been caused to fences.
I completed the patrol from approximately 15:10 – 15:30, as this has been around the time that damage had been caused historically. Happy to report that I encountered no issues and these targeted patrols will continue as frequently as I can.
On 05/03/26 I attended Allerton Rd and the surrounding streets at the end of the school day, following concerns being raised regarding school parking.
And on 06/03/26 I attended Hazeldene Rd,
as a concern regarding vehicles blocking the pavement had been raised here.
Parking issues do continue to be one of the most frequently reported issues.
When parking… *Check there is enough room to allow pedestrians, prams and mobility scooters to pass your vehicle safely. *Do not park across drop kerbs or crossing points *Do not park on or close to junctions as this creates a visibility obstruction
Diarmid Rd – No entry
Concerns have been raised regarding vehicles breaching the no entry signs on Diarmid Rd and in some occasions, speeding as they have done so. This is really dangerous as pedestrians and other drivers will not be expecting vehicles to enter the road from Church Lane. Over the past few days a number of patrols have been carried out here.
The penalty for breach of the no entry is £100 fine and 3 penalty points.
Speeding – Stuart Ave Concerns have been raised regarding vehicles speeding along Stuart Ave – this has been raised to the Road Crime Team.
Events. On Wednesday 18th March 2026, 18:30 at the Hanford Cricket Club, the Hanford Village Residents Association will be having an Annual General Meeting,
And on Thursday 26th Match 2026 9am - 11am there is a ‘Send Coffee Morning’ at the Priory CE Academy.
