We are aware of a viral ‘door kick’ challenge currently circulating online and affecting local communities. We are asking parents and carers to please speak with their children about the serious consequences of taking part.
🔹 Anyone aged 10 or over is above the age of criminal responsibility.
🔹 Taking part in this challenge can result in criminal damage offences being committed. This can result in a fine that parents would have to pay, or being given warnings, or evictions by Trent and Dove if in a council house. We will be working closely with local schools and will be sharing CCTV footage of any incidents. Anyone identified taking part may face criminal charges. Kicking doors can cause distress to residents, and continued targeting of addresses can be considered harassment We appreciate the community’s support in helping us address this issue and keep our neighbourhood safe.
