Our relentless work in tackling drink and drug driving as proactively as possible in Staffordshire saw us complete one of the largest amount of roadside tests out of any police force in the UK last year.
Our 24/7 road crime team (RCT) focused equally on enforcement and education efforts throughout the year, carrying out a series of targeted operations to put a stop to those drink driving, before they cause harm on our roads.
While it is difficult to quantify any direct link between carrying out more roadside tests, it is reasonable to consider its contribution in the lowest number of collision investigation deployments locally in January 2026 for more than a decade.
