Suspicious activity Tunstall |
||
|
The Neighbourhood Policing Team is aware of a number of images and videos circulating on social media which appear to show individuals in the Tunstall area during the evening and early morning hours attempting car door handles on private driveways and looking through household bins. These incidents are being monitored and actively reviewed by local officers. While we recognise and appreciate community members raising awareness and encouraging neighbours to ensure vehicles are secured, Staffordshire Police has received only a limited number of formal reports relating to this activity. Where reports have been made, officers have attended promptly, individuals stopped, searched, arrested, and enquiries were progressed. We would encourage residents to continue taking sensible preventative measures, including ensuring vehicles are locked, removing valuables from view, and reporting any suspicious behaviour directly to the police at the time it occurs. Timely reporting allows officers to respond effectively and supports ongoing patrol activity and investigative work in the area. Staffordshire Police proactively target areas where demand is shown to be high however due to the lack of reporting this area is not hitting the demand despite local officers being aware of the problem. We ask that residents avoid speculation on social media and instead report concerns through the appropriate channels so they can be assessed and dealt with accurately. You can report this activity by 999 at the time it is happening, or via 101 or the Staffordshire Police website if you discover footage on CCTV after the event. | ||
