We have received a report of unknown person(s) attempting to steal a 2 x quad bikes from a farm in Eccleshall.

📍 Location: Wetwood
📅 Date: Tuesday 21st April 2026
⏰ Time: Approximately 22:05 hrs

Suspect(s) have forced entry to a storage container by breaking the lock and have attempted to steal quad bikes. The suspect(s) were disturbed and left the scene before the theft could be completed. A vehicle was seen leaving the area at speed, travelling towards Loggerheads on the B5026.

🚜 Quad Bike & Farm Crime Prevention Advice

We encourage all rural residents and landowners to take the following precautions:

🔐 Securing Quad Bikes & ATVs

Remove keys and lock quad bikes with heavy‑duty chains and ground anchors

Store vehicles in locked buildings, ideally out of sight

Use immobilisers, trackers, or forensic marking systems (e.g. DNA/UV marking)

Park vehicles so they are blocked in by other machinery

Avoid leaving quads unattended in fields or near public access points

🏡 Farm & Rural Property Security

Ensure gates, sheds, and barns are secured with robust locks

Use motion‑sensor lighting around yards and access routes

Install and maintain CCTV or trail cameras, including coverage of driveways and entrances

Clearly display warning signage (e.g. CCTV in use, forensic marking)

Record and photograph equipment details, including make, model, and serial numbers

👀 Community Vigilance

Report any suspicious behaviour or vehicles, especially after dark

Take note of vehicle descriptions, registrations, and directions of travel

📞 Emergencies & Reporting

101 – to report suspicious activity
