Staffordshire Commissioner to review Fire & Rescue performance at public meeting

Topics to be discussed by Staffordshire Commissioner Ben Adams and Deputy Chief Fire Officer Glynn Luznyj at a public meeting on Thursday (7 May) will include Fire & Rescue service reform, shortfalls in funding and a continued scrutiny of performance.

During the Fire Public Performance Meeting, which will be broadcast live online from 10am, the Commissioner will ask the Deputy Chief Fire Officer about the progress Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service is making in delivering the priorities in his Fire & Rescue Plan.

They will also discuss the upcoming inspection by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) and updates from the previous phase of inspections.

The meeting will highlight some of the Service’s key activities between October 2025 and March 2026, including:

Attending 4,383 incidents, compared to 4,127 in the same period last year

Carrying out 264 Fire Safety Audits at premises including care homes, hotels, tall buildings and hospitals

Completing 7,499 Safe and Well visits to ensure vulnerable residents remain safe at home

Attending 443 road traffic incidents, compared to 383 in the same period last year

Delivering the Safe+Sound weekly online programme to 393,113 devices, of which 182,126 were from Staffordshire
