STAYING SAFE DURING THE WARM WEATHER |
||
|
#StayingSafe | Hot days make open water tempting, but it’s far more dangerous than it looks.
Even strong swimmers can get into trouble quickly. Cold‑water shock, hidden currents, and sudden depth changes catch people off guard every year.
• Keep away from reservoirs, quarries, and fast‑flowing rivers • Never jump into water to cool off as cold‑water shock can be fatal • Supervise children closely near lakes, canals, and rivers • Stay off inflatables on open water, wind and currents can pull you out fast •If someone is in trouble, call 999 and ask for Fire & Rescue
Enjoy the sunshine safely, stay water‑aware and keep yourself and others out of danger.
