🚨 SMART ALERT – VEHICLE CRIME PREVENTION 🚨

Please remain vigilant following an increase in vehicle-related crime reported across local areas.

Criminals are targeting unattended vehicles, particularly overnight, by attempting door handles, stealing tools from vans, and taking valuables left on display.

To help protect your vehicle and belongings:

🔒 Always lock your vehicle, even when parked at home
🔑 Keep keys away from doors and windows
💼 Remove valuables, bags, tools and sat navs from sight
📱 Do not leave mobile phones or wallets inside vehicles
💡 Park in well-lit, busy areas where possible
📷 Consider CCTV, dashcams or steering wheel locks for added security
🚐 Tradespeople are advised to remove tools overnight whenever possible

If you notice suspicious behaviour, unknown persons checking vehicles, or attempted thefts, please report it immediately to the police via 101, or 999 in an emergency.
