MAN JAILED FOR DRUGS OFFENCES |
||
|
A man has been jailed after he tried to run off from officers who spotted him doing a cocaine deal in Tamworth. Enis Kamberi, 19, of no fixed address, was seen in the passenger seat of a car that stopped in the Tamworth area. A woman got in the car for a short time and then left, prompting officers to follow the car into Warwickshire. When the car came to a stop, Kamberi got out and tried to run off, but didn’t get far. Officers quickly found a hidden compartment in the car. It had 18 deals of cocaine inside that had been stuffed into a sock, along with £380 in cash. Kamberi was arrested and charged with the offences. He later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A – cocaine and possession of criminal property. He was jailed for one-year-and-eight-months at Stafford Crown Court on Friday (5 June). A second man, who was also charged in relation to the investigation, failed to answer court bail and is wanted. We are continuing to act proactively against those responsible for serious and organised crime on our streets. Drug dealing often involves the exploitation of vulnerable people and can cause widespread damage in local communities. That’s why we’re working hard to find those responsible and bring them before the courts. To report drug dealing in your area, call 101 or use Live Chat on our website. If you want to stay anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
