Community fridge, Great Wyrley

PCSO’s Karen Terry and Fran Taylor recently visited the Community Fridge at Great Wyrley Academy.

During the visit, we met with Claire Holmes, who has set up this fantastic initiative. The scheme offers a mix of frozen, tinned, and fresh food, helping to reduce food waste while also supporting residents with the cost of living.

For just £5, you can collect a carrier bag of food, and a £2 annual membership fee gives you access to the service for a whole year.

The Community Fridge is open to everyone, and you will receive a very warm welcome if you choose to visit.

The scheme is also looking for volunteers who are able to help keep the scheme going.
