||
|
Police are appealing for information following a fire on grassed land on The Roaches that occurred yesterday evening, Monday 22nd June at around 21:30 hours.
Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Did you witness the incident or do you have any relevant dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area around the time of the fire? If so, please contact us and quote incident 1019 of 22/06/26.
With temperatures exceeding 30 degrees this week, we are reminding people that a public space protection order (PSPO) is currently in place across the Staffordshire Moorlands.
The PSPO bans the use of fires. barbeques fireworks and sky lanterns at high-risk locations.
Warm weather significantly increases the risk of fire so what might start as a bit of fun can have devastating consequences.
Police Officers in the area have been working with local supermarkets and using educational stickers to remind people that barbeques cannot be used on protected areas.
If any businesses, local guest houses etc require any educational posters, please reply back to the message.
People risk being fined for breaching a PSPO.
Together, we can reduce the risk of fire and keep communities safe.
