FOURSOME ARRESTED FOR DRUGS OFFENCES |
||
|
Four people have been arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences following a proactive stop-and-search in Tamworth. Officers on patrol spotted a vehicle being driven suspiciously on Lichfield Street earlier today (Wednesday 24 June). We stopped the vehicle at the junction of New Street. One person initially made off from the scene, discarding a number of items. They were detained a short time later. A number of mobile phones and a quantity class A drugs were recovered. A 36-year-old man, from Tamworth, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs: crack cocaine and heroin. A number of search warrants were then carried out, and further arrests were made, including: a 35-year-old man from Birmingham, a 52-year-old man, from Tamworth, and a 43-year-old woman, also from Tamworth, were each arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin. They each remain in custody while our inquiries continue. We are determined to disrupt the supply of illegal substances in Staffordshire and are doing all we can to identify those responsible. If you are concerned about drug use in your area or have any relevant information, call us on 101, use Live Chat on our website or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Call 999 in an emergency.
