Man charged following fatal collision |

A man has been charged with two offences following a fatal collision in Leek. Lee Gordejczuk, 51, of Leek, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. It comes following a collision between a VW Golf and a VW Caddy on Sunday 7 September last year on the A53 Leek Road, Longsdon. Sadly, the passenger in the Caddy, 85-year-old Barrie Cooper, from Crewe, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Caddy, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. She has since been discharged. Gordejczuk appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Thursday (18 June) and has been bailed ahead of his next appearance due at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 17 July. | ||
