Increase in Anti-Social Behaviour in Codsall and Bilbrook

We have recently seen an increase in anti-social behaviour across Codsall and Bilbrook.

Recent incidents include:

Benches being damaged at the Village Hall, the Wheel Field and Fairfield.

A den being built and a fire lit on the Village Hall field, with burnt pieces of wood subsequently thrown over a fence into a resident's garden.

Verbal abuse being directed towards local residents.

A brick being thrown at the Library window whilst a family, including a baby in a pram, was walking past.

A separate incident shortly afterwards in which a window was broken by a brick.

Yesterday, as children were leaving school, three youths were captured on CCTV entering and exiting the men's toilets at The Hub, where water had been thrown across the floor and splashed over doors and walls.

I would like to ask parents and carers to speak with their children and reinforce that this type of behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Please be assured that where offences have been identified and CCTV evidence is available, enquiries will be carried out and there may be a knock on the door to speak with both parents/carers and the young people involved.

Codsall and Bilbrook are wonderful villages, and it is disappointing that the actions of a small minority are having a negative impact on our community. We will continue to work with our partners and take robust action to address these issues and prevent further incidents.
