ABANDONED BUILDINGS...

#VisibleLocalTrusted | We are urging parents and carers to speak with their children following a number of incidents in recent weeks involving young people entering abandoned or derelict buildings.

These sites may look interesting to explore, but they are extremely unsafe. Many contain hidden hazards including unstable floors, sharp debris, exposed wiring and sudden drops. Even buildings that appear solid from the outside can be structurally dangerous inside.

It’s also important to remind young people that entering abandoned buildings is illegal.

Please take a moment to talk to your children about staying safe and making responsible choices when out with friends.  

If you see anyone entering or damaging an abandoned building, report it to us immediately.
