Facebook marketplace scams

Good Morning 

Just a quick message to make you aware of a local Facebook marketplace scam that has come to our attention.

A person claiming to be Luke Jennings was advertising garden furniture for sale at a property in Uttoxeter. The buyer was asked to pay a small deposit to hold the furniture, then arranged collection.  The scammer passed an address in Uttoxeter. When the buyer attended the address the property owner had absolutely nothing to do with the sale. 

The scammer was contacted by another person posing as a potential customer, this time the scammer gave a different address again located in Uttoxeter.

Of note: Please do not make any payments/deposits to persons who you are not aware off, unfortunately Facebook Marketplace does not offer any buyer protection.
