โ๏ธ Hot Weather Safety Advice from Your Local Neighbourhood Policing Team ๐ |
||
|
With the warm weather continuing across our area, we're encouraging everyone to stay safe and look out for one another. ๐ก๏ธ๐ โ Check on vulnerable neighbours, friends and family Older people, those living alone, young children and people with health conditions can be more affected by the heat. A quick phone call, text or doorstep check could make a real difference. โค๏ธ๐ค โ Keep hydrated Drink plenty of water throughout the day and avoid leaving anyone without access to fluids, especially children and elderly relatives. ๐ง๐ฅค โ Secure your home While it's tempting to leave windows and doors wide open to keep cool, please make sure your home remains secure. ๐ช๐ โข Lock doors when leaving the property. โข Keep valuables out of sight. โข Ensure accessible windows are secure, especially overnight or when you're not at home. โข Don't give opportunist thieves an easy opportunity. ๐ โ Protect your vehicle Never leave children, vulnerable adults or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a short time. Temperatures inside can rise dangerously fast. ๐๐๐ถ Also remember: โข Remove valuables from sight. โข Lock your vehicle, even if you're only popping away briefly. โข Close windows when unattended. ๐ โ Enjoy outdoor spaces responsibly If you're visiting parks, rivers or open spaces: โข Supervise children at all times. ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ โข Dispose of litter responsibly. ๐๏ธ โข Take care around water. ๐ โข Report any anti-social behaviour to the police. ๐ โ Look out for each other A small act of kindness can go a long way. If you know someone who may struggle during hot weather, please take a moment to check they're okay. ๐ ๐ Let's all enjoy the sunshine safely, stay hydrated, stay secure and help keep our community safe throughout the warmer weather. #StaySafe #CommunityPolicing #HotWeatherSafety โ๏ธ๐๐ | ||
