🚔 Vehicle Seized Following Reports of Poaching at Rocester

Yesterday (12 August), officers were alerted to reports of suspected poaching on the River Dove at Rocester.

Thanks to the swift intervention of a river bailiff, those involved left the area before officers arrived. However, in their haste, a van was left behind.

Enquiries carried out in the area, led officers to reasonably believe the vehicle had been driven without insurance. It is believed the vehicle entered Uttoxeter via the A518, travelled through the town, and continued on to Rocester.  Officers also found the vehicle to be in an unroadworthy condition and it has now been removed from the road.

This is another potentially dangerous vehicle no longer posing a risk to other road users.
Enquiries into the ownership of the vehicle and any associated offences remain ongoing.
